arrivederci!

This weekend is a biggie kids. Besides getting to watch one of my best friends get married [although it being the first wedding I'm actually a part of, let's be honest and admit the day is really about me] during a ceremony & reception she has slaved away planning, I'm also leaving for Venice on Sunday! Don't worry, the furballs & casa de crazy cat lady will be well cared for by family [and ADT] while I'm galavanting around seducing Italian men left and right.. or if you're my mom or other family member reading this, I mean taking in the amazing history & architecture.

Though this post reads as bragging, I'm actually looking to my internet friends for any suggestions on places I cannot miss or restaurants I need to gorge myself in.. Also, I can say "the woman has a car, not an apple" in Italian, which makes me basically fluent so send me anywhere kids. I'm not holding my breath for lots of internet availability, and to be frank I'm going to punch myself if I waste my time over there seeing what you kids are doing on twitter so you might not hear from me much. You better believe I'll have some zingers to tell when I get home though..

Have fun, Merl! You'll have to find some Italian kitties to satisfy your crazy cat lady needs!

Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Ooh I've been there! I think the fall is a great time to go. I went once in the summer and once in the spring. The summer was soo smelly and hot so I think fall would be nice. I would try to make it out to the islands to see the lace or the glass blowing. Plus, find a map and wander off the beaten track. That was my favorite. In the main areas you will find hand blown glass upon hand blown glass and it gets boring. But, it's really easy to get lost (for me it was) so keep that map handy! Gondola ride was really fun but expensive so bust out your bargaining skills and you'll get a better deal. Specific names of food places escape me but gelato is a must! We ate at one nice restaurant by San Marco and it was delicious! I wish I could remember the name but it was 6 yrs ago.

I can't wait to see your pictures!
