I was running late for school when my dad came into the kitchen saying that a plane had crashed into one of the world trade towers. The freak accident stopped me in my tracks wondering how such a horrific occurrence happened. I rushed off to school with the incident slowly using importance in self involved high school life. As I was sitting in my first class of the day, playing with my plastic bottle cap necklace that my basketball teammates and I wore, my teacher came in and silently turned on the tv. As this was not a normal introduction to the class, he got our attention immediately. Though with the broadcast showing the terror attacks, we couldn't have done much else. Watching the footage again on CNN of that horrific event brings the same sorrow as it did on that day. I cannot imagine being in the planes, building or on the street when the buildings fell. My heart and soul goes out to everyone who lost someone they knew on that day.
Ignorance can only breed hatred and this day is a tragic reminder of that. Hug your loved ones & practice love and respect for all walks of life.

thank you...for this. it was a strange day + i am still trying to wrap my brain around it.
In Toronto Canada we watched it too, from the library, all day. We were sent home early at 2:00 so that we could be with our families, and more importantly to watch an unfortunate piece of history. I didn't watch tv yesterday because, although I will never forget that day, I also believe that everyone should remember, but also move forward. Your country is in enough distress right now, it is time for everyone to gather and get back to the strong nation you were.
