tis the season for giving

I'm not sure why, but I've been a total Scrooge this holiday season. I see intricate Christmas light displays in someone's yard, and I think "what a total waste of energy." I yelled at my sister for almost buying me a gift from Urban Outfitters. Bloggers with their endless 'holiday wishlists' make me want to scream. Don't even get me STARTED on the fanatic 'deal' shoppers. It just seems like the actual spirit of the holiday season has been buried under mountains of greed, and even as the owner of two online shops, I can't muster the enthusiasm to compete for business. To help shake off the holiday humdrums and inspire some do-gooding I've devised a special diet of Elf, Scrooged, the A-Frames eyewear Artist Series Mix, cheap white wine while Clyde facetimes with Yen Kyle, eating comfort food that has nothing to do with Christmas AND..

Making my Christmas Cards!

Here is the moment that most people would reveal said masterpieces. But, as the title states, this is the time for giving. So here's the deal: I will send you what I consider, hands down, the FUNNIEST, most crudely executed holiday card you will ever receive.. and you will donate whatever you are able to give to an animal charity of your choosing. You can pay online for lots of national shelters like The Humane Society and the ASPCA, or find organizations in your city/area like Paws Chicago and The Animal Welfare League. You can pay in person if you want to help out a smaller charity that doesn't accept donations online. Don't have any change to spare? Lots of shelters will take old clothing or bedding and they always need more hands around. I know those Sarah Mclachlan commercials are the saddest things ever, so I'm hoping that the incentive of the world's most....creative & authentic Christmas card will inspire you to help more changing the channel so you don't have to cry over the pitiful animals [I only did that once.. but I want to almost every time.]. Because I think you kids are some good eggs.. we are working on the honor system. I'm not going to require that everyone show me a screen shot of their online receipt or take a photo of them volunteering or donating to a shelter. I trust you kittens.

Do your good furry deed this Christmas, then leave your email in the comments, or shoot me one requesting the best Christmas card ever created if you don't want random people to spam you. clydesrebirth [AT] gmail dot com.

I wish all of you a happy, healthy [& furry!] holiday season.

You read my mind!! I made my co-workers give me money for our local SPCA and I'll be hand delivering that check tomorrow along with toys and old towels for my furry friends in need. Nobody could agree on a charity to donate to, so I made the executive decision to have us donate to the ones who get forgotten the most during the holiday.
